The tournament team is the most competitive team we have with only 24 players making the team (12 men & 12 women). This team practices at least 2-3 times a week and travels for tournaments a handful of times each semester.

The social team is our lesser competitive group of 215 players. There are still tryouts for this team, but it is much more laid back than our tournament team with most players coming to 1-2 practices a week and attending the handful of social events throughout the semester.

The general club is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at UVA and is the lowest commitment level of the club. The general club doesn’t pay dues and doesn’t require tryouts but has significantly less events and days to play. It is a great way to dip your toe into the pickleball world.

Tryouts are only for those interested in the tournament or social teams. The only people exempt from tryouts are returning social team members who aren’t interested in the tournament team. All new members must tryout and anyone interested in the tournament team must tryout.
